Saturdate
It’s a beautiful day to bring your date out to Iota. And Iota has the perfect desserts
that you and your date can enjoy all day long. Today I sit here sipping on some
Misutgaru multi-grain boba while eating a pistachio macaroon. The Misutgaru
boba is healthy and has the perfect blend of sweet and milky icy grains to quench
your thirst on this sunny day. The boba is also perfectly soft and chewy. I promise
that it is one of Iota’s drinks that are definitely worth trying if you haven’t done so.
Our macaroons also have a variety of about 14 different flavors, all freshly made in
our kitchen. Every bite will fill your mouth with a sensation of a perfect blend of
sweet, crunchy and chewy. My personal favorite flavor is pistacchio but I urge you
to try all of them, and let us know what is your personal favorites! Also, feel free to
let us know if there are any flavors that you may want us to try out. Maybe we’ll try
to get it out on the menu!

Chilly
Los Angeles this past weekend had one of the biggest rain storms that LA has ever had. It was probably
one of the most perfect times to be able to stay in at IOTA to drink a nice warm cup of coffee or tea. We
had a lot of people there and it was nice to be able to watch the rain fall down outside as we were all safe
and warm inside. This past week we got to take a look at our different styles of coffee we have and also the
different designs that our amazing baristas have been perfecting. Here are a few of our designs that we
offer at IOTA every day.
Being able to make these designs so precisely takes a lot of talent and artistic ability. Our baristas at Iota
are highly trained and qualified baristas that willl only give you not only the best quality coffee but also
with the best style. Also, if any of you guys were interested, IOTA’s CEO Brian Chong also teaches how to
make coffee at IOTA here and there along with his weekly korean culture classes. This has been an
awesome way for Brian to not only get involved with the community and give back, but to be able to
educate and culture the city with the techniques of coffee along with the Korean culture. Brian currently
has many students that are starting to get bigger in the kpop entertainment business, along with baristas
that have won local coffee making contests.
I hear tomorrow is also supposed to be a pretty chilly today. What better way to spend a cold evening
thaan to be able to have a cup of coffee in a hand while getting some work done at Iota?
Remember, our coffee at IOTA is top knotch and freshly brewed every morning. We don’t mess around
here at IOTA. We only want to give our best to our customers.

What is Korea Town?
We at Iota care about what is going on in our surrounding area of Korea town in Los Angeles. We are privileged
to be located int he heart of Los Angeles where there are many events going on every single day. We at Iota not
only care about people being able to come to Iota, but to also be aware and know that there are a lot of other
things that are going on in our community that can ultimately unite the people of Los Angeles. Korea Town is a
very special place because it is a community where so many different people can come together and be united
by one common thread, community. We in K-town care about the people that live here, whether it be the
residents, the passer byers, the students that study hard, the business owners that struggle every day or simply
the family members that are trying to get by everyday. But we all fight the good fight together and push each
other to be better human beings everyday.
-
One event that happened this week was called Jishinbalpki (지신밢기) which is held by the students of the Los
Angeles area from UCLA , USC and UCI who are involved with a music group called Poongmool (풍물).
Jishinbalpki started in Korea a long time ago as a tradition to stomp out the bad spirits in the new years and to
bring in the new good spirits. But in America, we’ve turned it into a new year celebration where we can enjoy
time together and bless one another. This particular moment was a time where the students sacrificed their
time to walk around all of K-town while playing music and singing songs to bring joy to the people of K-town.
They went into different restaurants and businesses to bless these owners and customers. The greatest thing
to see were the smiles on people’s faces. For some it was the first time they had ever seen such Korean tradition,
for many it was a reminiscent time where they were able to look back at their childhood and their memories
back in Korea. All in all, people were brought to tears and laughter as they were able to share together in this
yearly celebration.
-
A lot of the poongmool players were also able to stop by Iota for some refreshing drinks and desserts after
working so tirelessly in the sun. It was a win win situation for everyone.
